The journey of value investing

Sometimes life should not be controlled and be let free to take you where ever it wants. This is what i thought while taking a big decision of spending a year abroad compromising on opportunities available in India to accelerate my career and changing gears. Infact I chose not to drive the vehicle of life but to sit on a back seat and enjoy the ride. As this year is culminating to an end I feel the decision taken will be counted among best decisions i will ever take in my life. Coming on to more realistic talks leaving philosophy behind, I have from long ago some curiosity in financial planning and investment(making money work for me) yet I chose to be an engineer (going with the herd). When coming abroad i had ample time to pursue this activity as hobby and i tried haphazard ways to learn from any where possible like internet, books and what not. Being a novice I used to find every read exciting and knowledgeable. As i entered 2011 learning basics of investing through some books and letters of warren buffet I by chance discovered the blogs by a professor of MDI by the name of fundoo professor. As I read through his blogs on financial investing and behavioral finance I was stunned by the content and clarity of those blogs and discussions. With more exploration I found a complete community of value investors who manage their finances and have tremendous knowledge of various financial instruments in markets to keep generating regular returns from their money (making money work ever). I entered a new world of value investors sharing their thoughts and insights, enlightening novice beginners like me to get a platform of learnings and follow the principles laid down by legendary value investors like benjamin graham, charlie munger and warren buffet. One thing common in all these investors is their common god being warren buffet or benjamin graham and their common religion being value investing. The other value investors explored are rohit chauhan, amit arora, Nined kunder and kiran. After reading their wisdom of investing and their experiences of investing journeys I am quite happy to be their follower and learner. As I know value investing is not a destination but a journey I have decided to start this journey from now on by setting financial goals for short term and long term. Finally, I have started managing my money as an aware and careful investor pursuing the long awaited dream. I will suggest all to aim for financial independence from early in your career and be aware and wise investors by reading the experiences and philosophy of above mentioned gurus. I am hoping this journey to be interesting and a learning one, making me more wise and financially independent. Lets see where it ends !!!
